Comme des Garçons, French for “Like Boys” and written in Japanese as コム・デ・ギャルソン (Komu de Gyaruson), is a Japanese fashion label headed by Rei Kawakubo, who owns the company with her husband Adrian Joffe. Founded in Tokyo in 1969 the brand soon after became hugely successful throughout Japan. With its techniques of monochromatic colors, surreal silhouettes and unconventional pattern it still is a strong inspiration to the fashion community.
